Dr. Asha Patel is working as an Associate Professor in the discipline of Pharmaceutics and Novel Drug Delivery System at Parul Institute of Pharmacy, Parul University, Vadodara. She was as an Assistant Professor at Anand Pharmacy College for 5.8 years in department of Pharmaceutics. She has completed her Ph.D. research project under Prof. Mukesh Gohel on nanoemulsion as drug delivery tool for bioavailability enhancement at Dharmsinh Desai University, Nadiad. Ph.D. work starting with the quantification of boswellic acid, to preformulation, formulation, and its biopharmaceutical aspects with pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic study. Author has succeeded in developing the nanoemulsion with science based approach followed by High troughput screening, nano-charaterization, and further explored its potential for topical and oral route. Ph.D work done on industry defined problems on bioavailability issues of active herbal pronciples with advanced formulation development. Additionally Asha has two years of industrial experience in R & D laboratory at Pharmanza Herbal Pvt. Ltd. Asha has area of expertise in Development and Characterization of Nano-colloidal, nanomicelles, niosomes, polymeric nanoparticles, nanosuspension for oral, ocular, topical drug delivery system by applying Quality by design principles for therapeutic application. Asha had presented more than 11 Research paper in various International and National conferences held in India. She has published more than 10 research papers in peer reviewed international and national journals. Asha had delivered a a talk and training session as resourse person on Optimization of Nanoemulsion mixtures through Design of Experimentation, Artificial neural networking and use of Chemometric tools in four day QbD and DoE certification course held at Anand Pharmacy College, Anand. She has files two patents and received two Minor research grant and one SciTech research grant from GUJCOST and published three book chapters in reputed publishers.
