Kit Distribution during COVID-19 Pandemic Response

The COVID-19 pandemic across the world has not only affected the medical well-being of the people, but it has also impacted the economic livelihood in various communities due to the mandatory lockdown. In such difficult times, the Social Responsive cell has been actively engaged in relief initiatives and donations for the welfare of the society. From the first day of the lockdown, SRC prepared 15 day ration kits consisting of essentials grains, cereals, pulses, spices and vegetables for the underprivileged families, and till date has supported around 500 families. In case the lockdown period is extended, these families will experience even more difficulties, and the SRC is committed and dedicated to offer assistance and has pledged to serve the needy. Various organizations and individuals have expressed their generosity by voluntarily coming forward to support us in this initiative.

Gramen Khel Mohatsav-2020

Social Responsive Cell of Parul University organised and hosted Grameen Khel Utsav 2020 in which they invited over 300+ school students from nearby villages. Various sports events ranging from sprint to relay race as well as team games were organized which made the event a huge success in motivating school going children for sports.

Swachhta Pakhawada Celebration

Students of PISW in collaboration with Social Responsive Cell participated in "Swachhta hi Seva" campaign. On 150th Birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi theme for ‘Swachhta Hi Seva’ was ban of one time plastic use. Students addressed school children and citizens of villages. As a part of Awareness Campaign, awareness rally, group discussion, drawing competition, interactive sessions and door to door plastic waste collection was conducted. Collected waste was submitted to respective Gram Panchayats and Schools as directed by district collectorate and DRDA office.

De addiction Awareness Week – 2019

Social Responsive Cell and Faculty of Social Work, Parul University in collaboration with Department of Prohibition and Excise, Vadodara District observed “De addiction Awareness Week – 2019” from 2nd to 8th October, 2019. Students participated in a silent rally followed by an elocution competition on the topic of “My way of Prohibition of Substance Abuse”. In rally posters about quitting addiction and prohibit narcotic substances were displayed.

Vadodara Flood Relief Services

A team of 500 plus students and staff members of Parul University, has joined hands with the Collector office of Vadodara District to extend flood relief services.


Shri. Arun Mathai, Founder, Fulcrum , in his talk, encouraged participants to download Swachhata-MoHUA, an application launched by Government of India under Swachchata Abhiyaan and get themselves registered on this app. Around 150 female students including female faculty members and members of Social Responsive Cell participated in the event. The drive was extended to the entire campus getting around 3000 registrations for the application by SRC team.

Blankets & Woolen Distribution

Students of Social Work under the ‘SECRET SANTA’ drive raised funds of Rs. 10,000 from the University
Campus to buy blankets and woolens for the needy. Blankets and woolens were distributed to the street
dwellers and needy across Vadodara during midnight.


“A clean India would be the best tribute India could pay to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150 birth anniversary in 2019,” said Shri Narendra Modi as he launched the Swachh Bharat Mission at Rajpath in New Delhi. On 2nd October 2014, Swachh Bharat Mission was launched throughout length and breadth of the country as a national movement.
A sense of responsibility has been evoked among the people through the Clean India Movement. With citizens now becoming active participants in cleanliness activities across the nation, the dream of a ‘Clean India’ once seen by Mahatma Gandhi has begun to get a shape. To initiate the same cause our college Parul Institute Of Engineering & Technology –Diploma Studies participated in “Swachhata Pakhwada” which was organized on 16th TO 30th October 2018 in the Parul university campus and at some rural areas of Vadodara District.

There was various activates carried out by different departments like : “Promotion of Hand Washing, Diseases Prevention and Massive Hygiene Promotion” activity was done by Mechanical Department at Karodiya village, Electrical, Architecture, and Applied Science & Humanities Departments arranged rally on Swacchta Pakhwada under Swachh Bharat Mission, Civil Department has done tree plantation within institute campus, Computer Department has inflated Swachh Bharat Messages through Social Media like Facebook. Chemical and Applied Science & Humanities Departments have focused on “NO PLASTIC PROGRAM” and Architecture Department has made Wall Painting on Swachhata Theme.

Flat foot and Scoliosis screening for school going adolescents

Parul Institute of Physiotherapy in collaboration with Parul Institute of Social Work, under the banner of Social Responsive Cell organized Flat foot and Scoliosis screening for school going adolescent students at Pipaliya High School on 6th Sept, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Approximately 100 students studying from standard VI to IX were screened out of which about 8 students were diagnosed for flatfoot and 12 students were diagnosed for Scoliosis. Further treatment will be given to the diagnosed students in consultation with their parents. Parul Institute of Physiotherapy will conduct similar screening tests for students of other villages of Waghodia district and necessary interventions will be undertaken for the diagnosed children.

Cleanliness Awareness Drive at Villages

The students and faculty members of Parul Polytechnic Institute and Parul Institute of Social Work under the guidance of SRC Team visited two villages namely Kamlapura and Pipaliya of Waghodia district to conduct the cleanliness awareness drive among the villagers on 14th September, 2017. The students had pre surveyed the villages and were aware about the cleanliness issues prevailing among the villagers. The students and faculties organized a rally through the streets of the villages passing through different housing clusters with charts and shouting slogans on cleanliness. The students themselves made various posters in Gujarati language with picturesque images for better understanding of the villagers.
The team also visited the Pipaliya primary school where the school children were demonstrated with the global handwash technique. They also practically practiced the same. They were also taught the importance of proper handwash so as to prevent diseases. The school authorities also actively participated in the drive and appreciated the efforts of the SRC Team.

Computer Literacy Campaigns

Parul Institute of Computer Application under Social Responsive Cell has been organizing Computer Literacy Campaigns by conducting series of sessions with the children of various community schools by giving hands on experience to them. A session was organized with the students of Pipaliya primary and High School, Pipadiya, Waghodia on 6th September, 2016. The students also donated clothes and stationary items to the school children.
Similar sessions were organized for the children of Iswarpura Primary School on 22nd March, 2017 and 8th August, 2017 wherein the students were given basic knowledge of computers and its uses followed by hands on experience on few applications.

Uniform Distribution for Primary School students

On account of Independence day celebrations, the University Social Responsive Cell distributed Uniforms to Primary School Students of Limda Village. Dr Parul Patel, Managing Trustee, PU was the Chief Guest for the Schools Independence day celebrations.

Tree Plantation

Parul Institute of Social Work organized Tree Plantation at Primary School, Pipaliya on 28th July, 2017 under the umbrella of Social Responsive Cell, Parul University. The SRC coordinators along with the students proceeded for the venue for the event by 10:00 am. Students after socializing with the school children explained to them about the importance of Plants and Vegetation for saving the environment. It was followed tree plantation till 12:00 noon. About 75 saplings of different varieties were planted in the school premises by the students of Social Work. The event was graced by School Teachers and Village Sarpanch.

“GYAN DHARA” – Mobile Library

The University’s Social Responsive Cell and its Library recently launched the “GYAN DHARA” Mobile library for the villages near by the University viz. Ishwarpura and Kamlapura .
The University’s Central Library will run this Mobile Library which will carry 400 books of different themes targeting the children of two villages. The main objective is to enhance the reading skills among children and promote education and all round development.

Health Check up Camp and Swine Flu Awareness Campaigns

The Electrical Department of Parul Institute of Engineering and Technology (Diploma Studies) in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru Homeopathic Medical College organized a health check up camp at Veer Narmad Corporation School, Vadodara on 31st Aug, 2017. Apart from serving health checkup to the underprivileged children they were also addressed on various types of flu and what basic precautions should be taken to prevent infection of such viruses.

The students of Faculty of Social Work under Social Responsive Cell undertook Swine Flu Awareness Campaign at Pipaliya Village and Schools on 3rd Sept, 2017. The children from school and the village community people were addressed to make them aware about the disease and precautionary measures were instructed to prevent the same.

Academic Menu
