Women’s day Celebration-2020

Inline with the global theme “Each for Equal”, Each staff and student stakeholder of PU played a role for Equality through a dynamic blend of events and activities such as participation in talks on Women rights and equal employment, Osteoporosis, along with competitions In Quiz, Dress Like Women you admire and Logo making. In addition, other women centred events which were featured in these four day commemorations, include a Medical check up for house keeping staff, along with an empowerment centred women start up platform entitled Show your entrepreneurship skills.

Women’s day Celebration-2019

Signifying this essential day of women, Parul University has took the initiative of introducing three campus electric rickshaws. The significance of these electric rickshaws is that each one of them will be having female operators. In other words further enhancing the initiative of promoting the environment, the University has put forward the need for gender balance and women development. The four seater vehicles will begin operating within the campus, and this will go a long way in promoting the green agenda of the University and also making it convenient for the students to navigate the 150 acre. Recognizing the need of protecting and developing the position of women in the Society, the women development cell took the initiative of commemorating the countless, continuing efforts of the University’s female students and staff members. Expressing the value within women, this program was centered on appreciating the efforts of all the hard working female students and staff members and for this purpose a facilitation ceremony was scheduled as part of its agenda.

Seminar on Digital Girl

A seminar on "Digital Girl" was organised by Faculty of Commerce under Women Development Cell, Parul University in Central Auditorium, Parul University. The experts were Mr. Bhautik Sheth, founder of iVIPANAN; Ms. Siddhi Jain and Ms.Shruti Bubna. The seminar focused on sensitising females about the use and threats of social media. Moreover, they empowered our girls to be digitally well equipped and taught them the techniques of leveraging social media to their advantage. It was a very informative session and it helped pave a path for females to become Digital Girls.

Expert talk on Women Empowerment

Social Responsive Cell and Women Development Cell in the University jointly organized an Expert Talk on " Women Empowerment" on January 19, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Mrs.Geeta Desai, President, Graduate Women International (GWI) conducted session on " How Graduate Female Students Can Influence the Policy Makers towards Building Equal Society".Smt.Swati Bedekar, a renowned social activist and Secretary, Vatsalya Foundation and President, the Indian Federation of University Women' Association also remained present and spoke at length on the said topic. Shri.Arun Mathai, Founder, Fulcrum , in his talk, encouraged participants to download Swachhata-MoHUA , an application launched by Government of India under Swachchata Abhiyaan and get themselves registered on this app. Around 150 female students including female faculty members and members of Social Responsive Cell participated in the event .

Women’s day Celebration-2017

March 8th is celebrated as International Women’s day all over the world. Parul University celebrated International Women’s day for 3 days ie. from 6th March to 8th March on the theme “BE BOLD FOR THE CHANGE” in a very unique manner with Women’s development cell along with Social responsive Cell of Parul University. What a better way to shine light on the ladies who contributed day in and day out to the family, society and surrounding with their talent, perseverance, warmth , wisdom and care.
  • The days witnessed activities ranging from Expert session for Female Faculties on Role of Women on Higher Education, Post Menopause Challenges and Remedies and how to release stress through meditation.
  • The session was also arranged for more than 100 female housekeeping staff of the University on Health and Hygiene.
  • Various competitions were organized for staff and students for Rangoli & Poster making on the theme “BE BOLD FOR THE CHANGE”.
  • A unique game “Let's Swap Roles for a day” for all staff and students of Parul University was organized Wherein girls do what boys do and boys do what girls do . Total 173 students and 48 staff members enjoyed the event.
  • The celebrations also recognized and appreciated the female members of the University for their Significant Achievements in various areas like Profession, Academics, Social contribution and so forth.
  • A cultural Programme was organized where in international students dance, a drama or a play enacting on girl foeticide and a tribute to all the female leaders of Parul University was presented by students of Parul University.
  • The celebration was not only restricted to the campus but also taken to the community level where Health and Hygiene talks and camps were organized at 2 villages of Iswarpura and Kamlapura for females. Contribution of school teachers and community helpers were also appreciated along with significant achievements by girl students in both the villages.
  • Awareness programme on “Activities of Women’s Development Committee” at Parul University was conducted on January 30th, 2016.
  • Women Development Cell celebrated International Women’s Day on March 7th - 8th, 2016 by organizing two events.
  • A group of University students performed a Street Play of 15 minutes duration depicting some socio - economic condition of women and girls on March 8th, 2016.
  • Organized Poster Competition on the theme of “Digital India” and “Gender Equality” was conducted on March 7th, 2016.
  • Debate Competition on the “Gender Equality” was organized on March 8th, 2016.
  • Aarti Basu, Managing Director of Parth Projects, gave an Expert Talk on Women Empowerment on March 8th ,2016.
  • Organized interactive session on “Importance of Meditation in Combating stress” with Soumya Suresh, Speaker from Ramakrishna Mission on March 8th, 2016.
  • Neha Nimbark, Gynaecologist delivered expert talk on “Reproductive Health of Women”.
  • A two day Yoga camp was organized on March 7th - 8th, 2016 for female Students and staff.
