STTP on Design of Solar Power Plant

In recent years, the worldwide electricity consumption has increased and the conventional electricity generation generation sources are not capable to match upto the increasing demand. Innovators have come up with an alternate solution viz., ” Distributed Generation”. Sun is one of the distributed generation source and at present, India generates about 17 GW of Solar Power. The Government of India has taken an initiative to increase Solar Power Generation upto 175 GW by 2022. In order to introduce students to these concepts of Solar Power Generation, the Department of Electrical Engineering in Parul Institute of Engineering & Technology organized Short Term Training Programme on ” Design of Solar Power Plant” in association with Ellume Solar Private Limited. 35 students pursuing UG and PG programme in Electrical Engineering and many faculties from various engineering colleges participated in the STTP organized by Parul University. During this STTP, the participants also visited 10 MW Canal Top Solar Power Plant in Sama, 10 MW Ground Mounted Solar Power Plant with MPPT Tracking at Raval and 3KW Rooftop Solar Power Plant at Gotri.
