About Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering came into existence in the year 2010. The department has been approved by AICTE. It offers both undergraduate and post-graduate courses. Qualified, experienced, committed and hardworking workforce of teaching and non-teaching staff is the strength of the department. The department has several faculty members hailing from various institutes of repute such as IITs and NITs.
The Department is facilitated with a variety of computational and experimental laboratories such as Theory of Machine Lab, Computer Aided Design Lab, Computer Aided Manufacturing Lab, Dynamics of Machine Lab, Renewable Energy Engineering Lab, Fluid Power Engineering Lab, Material Science and Metallurgy Lab, Mechanical Measurement and Metrology Lab , Internal Combustion Engine Lab, Automobile Engineering Lab, Refrigeration and Air conditioning Lab, Control Engineering Lab, Engineering Graphics Lab, Mechanical Worksop for industrious learning and research in these disciplines. Under Graduate and post-graduate students work closely with the faculty on a variety of Industrial projects and receive individualized attention from the faculty. The Department is associated with the leading Industries and International Universities through Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs).
Mechanical Engineering Department also runs students chapters like Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ISHRAE), Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Indian Institute of Welding (IIW), Institution of Engineers (IEI). These chapters help the students to enhance their professional as well as vocational skills. Team of students participated in several reputed national level design competitions named as SAE-SUPRA, HPVC- ASME. Various workshops, vocational courses, seminars and expert lectures are regularly organized on latest technological advancements in order to bring up +students as future technocrats.
Department has credit to have Industry Defined Research Project in collaboration with L&T Power, Vadodara and University of Surrey, UK funded by Royal Academy of Engineering, United Kingdom under Newton Bhabha fund.
