Expert talk on Reproductive Health of Adolescent Girls

Parul Institute of Nursing arranged an expert talk on reproductive health of adolescent girls, session was delivered by Dr. Snehal S and Dr. Rinki S, Academic of Pediatrics where 100 students participated in awareness program. Both the experts provoked about reproductive health for adolescent girls and stress management.

Expert Lecture on Young people and mental health in a changing world

Department OF Mental Health Nursing, Faculty OF Nursing celebrated World Mental Health Day on 10th October 2018 with a theme of the year “young people and mental health in a changing world”. Adolescence and the early years of adulthood are a time of life when many changes occur, for example changing schools, leaving home, and starting university or a new job. For many, these are exciting times. They can also be times of stress and apprehension however. In some cases, if not recognized and managed, these feelings can lead to mental illness. With the thought of bringing awareness about the importance of mental health among our young students, an expert lecture on the theme was organized and Dr. Anup Chhasatia, Psychiatrist, Parul Sevashram hospital really did justice to the topic and delivered an excellent thought provoking lecture.

Expert Talk by Dr.D.S. Veerabhadraswamy on Life Skill for Adolescent

Parul Institute of Nursing organized expert talk on “ Life Skills for Adolescents” on 20th July 2018. Dr.D.S. Veerabhadraswamy from Saudi Arabia, Adjunct Professor of Parul Institute of Nursing. He explained the importance of 10 life skills and how these skills has to be incorporated in one’s life. The students were made to realize the importance of qualities of everyone’s life and one can excel in education as well as personal life.

Expert Talk on Change the future of migration: Invest in food security and rural development

Parul Institute of Nursing had organized expert talk on theme of “Change the future of migration: Invest in food security and rural development.” On 16th October 2017. Dr.Vijayakumar H S, Registrar, Parul University, Addresses the need to build the resilience of displaced and host communities. World Food Day is an important time to reiterate the right to food as a basic human right; that investing in sustainable food systems and rural development means addressing some of the major global challenges – from empowering the world’s growing population to protecting the global climate to tackling the root causes of hunger and malnutrition.

Expert Talk on Pediatric Blood Disorders

Department of Child Health Nursing arranged the Expert Talk on Pediatric Blood Disorders on 20th March 2018. Dr. Hardik Dave discussed about sickle cell anemia and Dr. Shreya Parekh delivered a lecture on Hemophilia. Participants were 3 rd year B.Sc Nursing, 2 nd GNM and 2nd Year B.Sc Nursing Students and faculties.

A Guest Lecture on Scope Of Nursing Profession

Ms. Jasuben Patidar who is presently the Registrar of Gujarat Nursing Council and who has wide experience in coordination and implementation of nursing curriculum, conducted lecture on nursing profession. Wherein she oriented the novice students as well as senior students regarding various job prospects, different requirements in different nursing courses. Students got a firsthand experience of understanding the scope of nurses in India as well as various job prospects for them in the future.
