This CABCIN project will directly address a key priority, namely improving the quality of teaching in Indian HEIs, including cooperation with EU HEIs and increasing internationalization. The target goal of establishing the Capacity Building Centers is to offer an initial and continuous training for current and future university teachers with focus on pedagogical skills with ICT use. This will be done through preparing selected staff to conduct high-quality and innovative face-to-face, as well as e-learning courses, deliver feedback and resources to make excellent teaching possible.
Specific Project Objective/s:
  • To create campus-wide teaching culture by establishment the Capacity Building Centers with open and flexible access to its e-learning resources (WP4)
  • To build own capacity by preparing selected staff towards delivering trainings for academics (WP2)
  • To develop map of key teaching competencies in order to design tailor-made courses for current and future university teaching staff (WP3)
  • To develop key self-regulation and self-managing competencies for teaching staff in order to overcome the obstacles that they face during the teaching process by preparing teaching programs with focus on pedagogical skill (WP3)
  • To enlarge number of trained staff by implementing innovative blended courses with ICT use (WP2, WP4)
  • To create possibility of applying gained skills and building international teaching and research networks by developing European Visiting Program (WP5)

Expected Impact
CABCIN will fill a substantial gap in current quality of teaching in India by establishment the Capacity Building Centers. It will generate sustainable solution of this kind in India and contribute to transfers of innovation and knowledge across regional, institutional and sectoral boundaries. The outcomes of the project will be used by 4 main target groups: university academics, graduate students, prospective university members and employers. CBC web platform will generate increased interaction between HEIs and employers and organisations, measurable through the development of new collaborations. This will be done through inviting entrepreneurs for organised open workshops, conferences to share their know-how and reach potential employees. The Capacity Building Center website repository for promoting and supporting activities undertaken in the project, as well as for supporting organizations engaged in the work of the project will support further dissemination, exploitation and sustainability. The establishment of public website will allow for new teachers to develop practice which in turn will be added to the resources, thereby furthering the central concern with capacity-building. The CABCIN project will also benefit at EU level as an example of good practices in collaboration with Indian HEIs. This will promote Indian HEIs as qualified and innovative partner.
Short term impact
  • Trained staff according to the latest knowledge in the area of the project • Established CBC
Long term impact
  • Each Indian university will possess a core set of technologies and equipment enabling future development of CBC • Each Indian university will possess a set of established links with educational partners from EU universities • Trainers will possess a methodology of designing e-learning courses that will allow to evolve • Increased visibility of Indian universities in EU • Increased students employability
