About Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery


Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery practitioners play a pivotal role in the promotion of healthcare through maternity care amongst mothers and ensuring child care and deliveries at both hospital and community levels. The Faculty of Nursing offers a two-year diploma program in Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery which is uniquely designed to develop capable midwifery resource individuals who have the ability to offer the highest level of patient care and child delivery support. Nursing is one of the most noble professions which not only deals with the medical well-being of the patients but also caters for their mental wellness. Therefore midwifery experts go the extra mile by assisting doctors during the birth procedures. The Faculty of Nursing focuses in shaping the practical abilities of the students through a comprehensive curriculum which focuses in both theoretical aspects and the technical fundamentals of medicine. Not only does the course centre on technical skill, but also focuses on development of interpersonal skills which are required for ensuring a harmonious understanding between the nurses and the patients. 
As a way of providing the most practical hands on training for the students, the faculty of nursing is equipped with a 750 bedded multispecialty teaching hospital, Parul Sevashram Hospital, with a dedicated labour ward, where students can engage in various child birth procedures. Therefore this provides the students of nursing with the opportunity to actively learn and engage with expert doctors throughout their course.

International Nurses' Day 2019

International Nurses' Day was celebrated in Parul Institute of Nursing, Parul University to commemorate the birthday of Miss. Florence Nightingale the founder of modern Nursing on 13th May 2019. The theme was 'Nursing: the Balance of Mind, Body and Spirit'. The program started with lamp lighting by the dignitaries. Dr. Ramachandra Hooli welcomed the guests and briefed the importance of Nurses' day which was followed by felicitation of chief guest as she is a successful nurse. Cultural events from nursing students were organized which is the part of Nurses day Celebrations.

World AIDS Day-2018

Department of Medical Surgical Nursing celebrated World AIDS day on 01.12.2018. A part of this arranged a Seminar on Opportunistic Infection Identification and its management. Experts from medical nursing and pharmacology took sessions in the seminar. Principal Prof. Charan PM inaugurated the seminar and sessions were handled by Dr. Niraj Bharadwaj, Mr. Padmakumar, Dr. Neha A Nimbrk, Dr. Archana Navale.

Current Trends and Issues in Nursing

Revolution and changes in health care and education are results of advancement in nursing as well as the changes occurring in the field of research, administration, education and health care. Department of Nursing Foundation, Parul Institute of nursing organized a one day Continued Nursing Education on "Current Trends and Issues in Nursing" on 26th April 2019. The continued Nursing Education was inaugurated by Dr. Pragna Dabhi, Registrar, Gujarat Nursing Council, Mr. I.A. Kadiwala, Vice president, Gujarat Nursing Council, Dr. Geetika Madan Patel, Medical Director, Parul University, Director and Principal of Nursing.

Expert Talk on "Zero Malaria starts with me”

Department of Community Health Nursing organized expert talk on occasion of World Malaria Day. Dr. Nirajkumar A Bharadva Asso.Prof, Parul Institute of Medical Science & Research (PIMSR) delivered the lecture on the topic "Zero Malaria Starts With Me". He explained grassroots campaign that aims to keep malaria high on the political agenda, mobilize additional resources, and empower communities to take ownership of malaria prevention and care.

Expert Talk on “Essential Obstetrical Care”

An expert talk was arranged by the dept. of obstetrics and gynecological Nursing on topic of ESSENTIAL OBSTETRICAL CARE on 11th April, 2019, Safe motherhood day. The talk was delivered by Dr. Noopur Nagar ma'am, Asst. professor, dept. of OBG, Parul Sevashram Hospital. She has focused on different aspects of ESSENTIAL OBSTETRICAL CARE like Antenatal care, management of labor, Partograph, Postnatal care, family planning etc. The session was very informative and students learnt a lot from the lecture.
