About B.Sc. Nutrition and Dietetics


The Faculty of Applied Science provides a three year bachelors program in Nutrition and Dietetics which seeks to impart within the students an understanding of the fundamentals of design of food and nutrition. Parul University’s Nutrition and Dietetics program focuses on promoting healthy living standards, through deductive scientific models and experimentation. The department’s elite expert faculties and resource persons, work towards integrating the classroom theory based learning, with the laboratory practical training. The Faculty is equipped with state of the art research facility which seek to provide the students with an exposure to the contemporary scientific research on food, nutrition & dietetics, and also encourages student contribution on the various levels of social welfare and development. Our curriculum is strategically designed to provide students with the most comprehensive exposure to real time nutrition and diet concerns to play an active role in disease control and societal welfare. Beyond the scope of the academics, the program also seeks to enhance the career competencies and practical skillsets of the students, to match up the various industrial expectations.

WORKSHOPS, EXPERT TALKS & COUNSELLING

PU always strives to step foot beyond the regular horizons of academics by conducting workshops, expert talks and counselling. These sessions introduce students to a whole new world of hands on practice and in depth knowledge of the syllabus. In line with this, the students pursuing Nutrition & Dietetics were involved in numerous field and administrative research works like- 1. National Seminar on 'Recent Trends in Research and Development'

National Seminar on 'Recent Trends in Research and Development' was successfully organized by Faculty of Applied Sciences, Parul University in collaboration with the Microbiology Society of India wherein reputed subject experts Dr Deshmukh, Dr Wakte and Dr Awasthi delivered keynote addresses.

Parul University's annual festival is a celebration of cultural diversity and features a platform for students' creative expression. For Applied Science students, the platform developed and shaped their interpersonal skills and personal confidence to match the needs of the industry and enhance their employability.

Science Vibe – 2019

The faculty of Applied Science celebrated National Science Day on 15th March, 2019 by organizing Science Vibe event. The event covered various competitions like Working Model Presentation, Poster Presentation, Scientific spot photography, Quiz, Science Game, etc. There were 468 participants from various branches of Parul University.
