About Electrical Engineering


The growing scope of digital and electrical systems has created an increasing demand for experts who are skilled in the  design and application of equipment, devices and systems which use electricity electronics, and electromagnetism. To meet this demand, the Faculty of Engineering's Department of Electrical Engineering offers a 4 year undergraduate degree program in Electrical Engineering which seeks to provide the students an indepth understanding into the field. The department has strategically developed the electrical engineering curriculum in such a manner that provides the students with a comprehensive learning exposure. With its AICTE approval, the Electrical engineering program guarantees students a high quality academic experience. The department’s unique approach to practical training has resulted in the establishment of various laboratories such as the AC/DC Circuit lab, Electrical Machine Lab and Power Electronics lab amongst others. The department follows a teaching model which places particular focus on providing solutions to global technology concerns. Our highly trained expert faculties form prominent institutions such as IITs and NITs provide students with the most practically engaging learning experience imparting within them the relevant skills to meet the industrial demands.

Seminar on Advance Application in Power Electronics

On 29th June, 2018, a one day seminar was arranged at ADVANCE APPLICATION IN POWER ELECTRONICS. Conducting Expert Mr. Madhusudan Gohil, owner at Powertronics Technology introduced students with basics of power electronics, power circuit diagram and its concept including its application system. A total of 80 students from final year, Electrical department of Parul Institute of Engineering and Technology had participated in this workshop.

One Day Training and Mock drill on Basic Fire and Safety

Electrical Department had organized a one day workshop on 1st July, 2019 on Mock drill On Basic Fire and Safety by Mr. Amit Kshatriya. The main objective of this workshop was to spread awareness among young students regarding humanity purpose of living and how not to panic in any kind of unfavourable situations faced in surrounding environment.

Workshop on Energy Conservation Awareness

A one day "Energy Conservation Awareness Workshop sponsored by Gujarat Energy Development Agency (G.E.D.A), Gandhinagar was organized by Parul Institute of Engineering And Technology (DS) on 17th September, 2016. A total of 150 students and 24 faculties from Electrical department of Parul Institute Engineering and Technology participated in this workshop. The workshop was conducted by Shri. Bhaskar. N. Raval and Shri. Yogesh Prajapati from Swajal Technologies, Anand.

Workshop on Industrial Electrical Logic, Vfd, Panel Designing, Motor & Switch Gear

Parul Institute Of Engineering And Technology (Diploma Studies), Electrical Department organized a two day workshop On Industrial ELECTRICAL LOGIC, VFD, PANEL DESIGNING, MOTOR & SWITCH GEAR on 10th and 11th September 2015. The Workshop Started With A Plenary Session by Mr. Balram Singh, Founder & M.D. of TECHNOLAB, Bardoli Region. Students completed practicals on different electrical panels and acquired practical knowledge.

Expert Talk on “Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking”

Electrical Department of PIET (DS) organized a talk on Drug Abuse & Illicit Trafficking on 27th June 2019 by expert Dr. Yogesh Patel. He enlightened students about the stages which can lead to addiction of drug unknowingly.

Expert Lecture on Industrial application of power electronics

Mr. Nirav Vaghela, Owner of INDIGENOUS ELECTRICAL, Vadodara had delivered an expert lecture on 31st August 2017 on INDUSTRIAL APPLICATION OF POWER ELECTRONICS. He explained about saving of energy at the power generation with application of power electronics devices. He further explained about the different devices for speed control of drives and D.C. motors and gave the brief description about the different types of choppers circuit and different power electronics controller.

Expert Lecture On Calibration Of Equipment

Mr. Riyaz Khan, Manager of POLYCAB WIRES delivered an expert lecture on 2nd August 2016 on CALLIBRATION OF EQUIPMENT. He explained about the measurement parameters, specific ranges, and accuracy requirements. He summarized the workshop with Test/measurement and calibration of equipment system.

Industrial Visit at Trivedi Institute of Training and Skill Development, Por

A one day Industrial Visit was conducted on 31st August 2017 at Trivedi Institute Of Training and Skill Development, Por for the third semester students of Electrical Department (Diploma Studies). The students were given practical session on calibration of Instruments. Further on, the students were taken to another division of the solar panel where the solar panel, Inverter and Transformers and synchronizing setup were introduced to students.

Industrial Visit at Charanka Solar Park

On 3rd February 2017, a one day industrial visit was arranged at Charanka Solar Park in Patan district. A total of 68 students of the 4th sem Electrical department (diploma studies) visited the industry which is 350kms from Parul University. The Charanka solar park is Asia's biggest solar park and the World's second largest in terms of installed power production capacity. A total of about 1100 MW are commissioned with individual solar parks ranging from hundreds of kW to 40 MW capacities. Rows of photovoltaic cells/solar panels have been laid out over an area of 2,965 acres, to harness the sun.

Industrial Visit at 400 Kv Asoj Substation

On 31st January 2017, a one day industrial visit was arranged at 400 KV ASOJ SUBSTATION. A total of 50 students of 6th Sem Electrical department (diploma studies) visited the substation. Electrical Substation is an assemblage of electrical components including bus bars, switch gear, power transformers, auxiliaries, etc. Students acquired the knowledge of circuit-breakers, isolators, earthing switches, current transformers and voltage transformers connected in substation.
