About Fire Technology and Safety


Fire Technology and Safety is an industry based engineering program which educates students to create an environment of safety against fire. Parul University offers a 4 year B.Tech program in fire technology and safety which trains the students on the planning process of constructing any building or implementing new plans in exisiting buildings. The department's unique curriculum will expose students to the latest safety measures and fire handling situations. Also through a broad emphasis on practical labs and hands on practice, the students become competent enough to design safer fire resistent equipment and plants and posess a better understanding of the science of fire, its hazards, control methods, etc. Our expert faculties and lecturers from the eminent institutions such as IITs and NITs, guide the prospective students on the path of academic excellence. Graduates of this program will develop the vital skill sets required for the various career prospects in the field of fire technology and safety.

Why Study Fire Technology and Safety

Fire Technology and Safety program provides knowledge of safety precautions and codes of conduct during any fire mishap. The bachelor's program is developed in safety measurement handling. Presently, the field uses latest heat and smoke detectors, air sampling type detectors and UV flame detectors. With all this covered during the 4 years of engineering, the students will develop qualities like physical agility, presence of mind, self discipline and leadership qualities.

Global Grand Challenges Summit-2019

Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Parul University organized the Global Grand Challenges Summit (GGCS) event from 16-18 September 2019 on the UN Sustainable Goals. The students got the opportunity to work and research on areas related to the understanding of solution required for the betterment of humanity.

PiCET-2019

The 2nd International Conference- Parul University International Conference on Engineering & Technology: Smart Engineering was jointly organized by Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Parul University, India and Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Wroclaw, Poland. Mechanical Engineering and Allied Engineering had been covered under the theme of "Smart Innovations" in PiCET'19. The first session on day one was on theme: 'Next-Generation Manufacturing'.

Expert Lecture on Fertilizer Industrial safety in petroleum industries

Chemical Department Conducted an expert talk by Mr. Kalpeshkumar Raval, HSE of Dragon oil, Turkmenistan. He has delivered expert talk in detail of General Safety, Occupational Safety and Health Process and Production Safety, Material Safety, Workplace Safety Fire Safety, Electrical Safety, Building and Structural Safety Environmental Safety.

Industrial Visit to GACL

The students and faculty members of Chemical Engineering department visited GACL, Vadodara. 90 students of 6th semester visited the company. They were accompanied by faculty members Prof. Kuldeep Bhatt, Prof. Ami Patel and Prof. Priyesnath Rathod. Students saw the manufacturing of Caustic Soda by membrane cell process. Student also saw how flammable hydrogen and poisonous chlorine gas is stored.
