With the emergence of digitisation and technological innovation the scope of librarianship has continuously grown and developed creating new avenues and e-libraries and e-resources. The Masters in Library and Information Sciences program is a 1-year post-graduate training program which is practical oriented towards training students to meet the demands of the industry. The program is uniquely designed to shape and develop experts who are effectively skilled to actively work in the areas and aspects of data recording and library management. The program focuses on developing a specified line of knowledge and expertise in the fields of library management, administration, book and journal procurement. The course develops within the students a broad and wide scope of knowledge in the various fields and areas of knowledge related to literary works. It also goes on to enhance the memory capacity of students, making them more effective and efficient in handling the day to day aspects of book procurement and library requirements. The Faculty goes on to focus particularly on the development of the digital skills of the students, which allows them to make full use of the various digital resources which are available for the students. As a way to shape and develop the practical skills of the students, Parul University is equipped with 17 libraries with academic resources which allow the students to be regularly and practically engaged all throughout their course.
