Majorly, all the human made objects in our environment are a result of basic engineering principles. The buildings, bridges, vehicles, electronics, utensils, etc are some of the common cases of engineering design around us. Likewise, when we apply scientific solutions to the technical field, this discipline is called machine design. Parul University offers a 2 year postgraduate program in Machine Design which trains students to provide technical solutions in engineering design while also ensuring the final outcome to be optimally functional, economical, aesthetic and eco friendly. Our program in machine design ensures that the students understand the fundamentals of the subjects as well as the commonly used elements and parts of the machines. The practical sessions help students to utilize proper materials and shapes required in the design process. The department’s highly trained faculties form renowned Institutions such as IITs and NITs, nurture and develop the vital knowledge of manufacture and assembly design, CAD/CAM design, plastic design, aerospace design, robotics design and complex engineering systems along with the most essential industrial competencies. Seminar on Futuristic Trends in Natural Fibre Composites and its Application

Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted a GUJCOST sponsored one day seminar on "Futuristic Trends in Natural Fibre Composites and its Application" on January 4, 2019. The seminar was organized with an aim to disseminate fundamental knowledge pertaining to the recent and futuristic trends in the field of Natural Fibre Composites.

Workshop on Wind Tunnel Experiments Techniques and Applications

Under Industry Defined Research Project titled 'To Reduce Water Consumption and Optimize Efficiency of Thermal Power Plants by Using Air Cooled Condensers' funded by Royal Academy of Engineering ,UK under Newton Bhabha Fund, Parul University had jointly with L&T and University of Surrey organized Workshop on 'Wind Tunnel Experiments- Techniques and Applications' on 17th March 2018.

Industrial Visit at Railway Workshop, Bhavnagar

A visit at Railway Workshop, Bhavnagar was arranged by the department of mechanical engineering for students. This workshop is carrying out POH of MG ICF coaches with the target of 15 coaches per month. Recently, the work of IOH of BG coach bogies is assigned to this workshop.

The 2nd International Conference, Parul University International Conference on Engineering & Technology: Smart Engineering was Jointly organized by Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Parul University, India and Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Wroclaw, Poland.
