Indian Summer School Visiting Scholar Program 2019

4th February to 1st March 2019

Parul University, India invites international scholars to conduct a teaching stay at our university within the Indian Summer School. The main objective of the program is to encourage collaborations between HE institutions and provide an international education experience for international and Indian Summer School Students.

Visiting scholars profiet from excellent working conditions and its ties to university departments. They will explore possible research links with their host department during their stay at PU, and encourage further collaboration on student and faculty levels.

Subject Areas

Applicants can teach his/her own expertise and we will match with PU existing course(course outline to be delivered on PU Format)

Teaching Commitment

Each visiting scholar will be required to teach 1 three credit course (45 hours of class conduct) over a period of 4 weeks, which is scheduled as 3-hour classes, Monday through Thursday | (10am - 1am).

Class Information

Each visiting scholar will be assigned to coordinator at host department.

  • visiting scholars are required to teach courses that do not have prerequisites
  • scholars are requested to encourage the use of interactive teaching methods

Eligibility and Application Overview

  • A doctoral degree or equivalent professional training or experience at the time of application.
  • Sufficient Proficiency in the English Language

Cultural Experience

Various cultural excursions will be arranged during the summer session, along with the chance to attend introductory Hindi language classes.

Date for ISSVSP 2019

  • Summer Session : 04.02.2019-01.03.2019
  • Opening ceremony will be scheculed on 4th February 2019
  • Closing ceremony will be scheduled on 1st March 2019

Financial Arrangements

PU will provide

  • Air ticket for round-trip airfare
  • Hotel Accommodation (upto 28 days)
  • Stipend of 1500 euro (paid at the end of the course)
  • Scholars must have an appropriate visa to receive the stipend.

Application Procedure

Please apply before September 30,2018. The final selection results will be announced via individual email in mid-October, 2018.

  • Till 30th September applications collecting
  • 1st-15th October applications screening
  • 16th October-decision on subjects, announcements on the website(potential scholarsare informed that final decision will be announced once admission will be finalized)
  • 20th October-31st December-admission for students (directly to PU ISS coordinator)
  • 5th January - final confirmation to visiting scholars whether their subject will start (issuing invitations etc.)

N.B. in rare cases, a course may be cancelled due to insufficient student registration.
