PU’s Ahmedabad Physiotherapy College Hosts Oath Taking Ceremony and Welcomes New Generation of Healthcare Professionals

Marking a defining moment in the academic lives of its students, PU’s Ahmedabad Physiotherapy College, hosted its annual Oath Taking Ceremony. Held at the esteemed HT Parekh Auditorium in Ahmedabad, the event welcomed over 75 graduating students from the Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) and Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) programs into the professional fold. The occasion celebrated their academic and formal induction into the noble world of physiotherapy.

The event opened on a cultural and ceremonial note, with a captivating welcome dance performance, followed by the traditional lamp lighting ritual, signifying the light of knowledge and the dawn of responsibility. In the presence of faculty, parents, peers, and distinguished guests, the graduating students took the professional oath, pledging to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct, clinical competence, and human compassion in their practice.

 

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vinod Patel, Member of the Board of Governance and Trustee, PU, offered an insightful reflection on the values that define a true healthcare professional. Dr. Prakruti Motka (PT), I/c Secretary of the Gujarat State Allied & Healthcare Council, delivered a deeply inspiring address, emphasizing the need for integrity, lifelong learning, and the unwavering commitment required to wear the white coat with dignity. Adding a personal and emotional touch to the occasion, Dr. Komal Patel, Vice President and Trustee of PU, shared heartfelt anecdotes from her own journey in patient care. She highlighted how “the smallest acts of kindness and empathy often have the greatest impact”, complementing the technical skills that define physiotherapy practice.

Dr. Gaurav J Patel, Principal of Ahmedabad Physiotherapy College, addressed the students and their families with a spirited message, calling the oath not a ceremonial tradition but a solemn promise, one that binds each graduate to a life of purposeful service and unwavering dedication. “Today’s oath is more than a tradition, it’s a turning point,” said Dr. Gaurav J Patel. “It marks your commitment to serve with empathy, act with integrity, and lead with purpose in every life you touch.” Dr. Meghavi Oza, Associate Professor, led the students through the formal oath recitation and the symbolic turning of the tassels, signifying their transition from students to professionals.

The Ahmedabad Physiotherapy College’s Oath ceremony recognized outstanding students with certificates of excellence, applauding their dedication and performance throughout their academic journey. As the event drew to a close, the air was filled with pride and promise. The Ceremony was a reminder of the profound responsibility carried by healthcare professionals and the lifelong journey that begins the moment the oath is taken.
