Nurturing a true spirit of national service amongst the youth has been one of the core values of PU's Armed Forces Cell. Owing to this agenda the university has turned its campus into an atmosphere of pride for national service through its NCC students. Recently two of PU's Cadets were selected to represent the state of Gujarat at the prestigious Republic Day Parade that took place on January 26th. From its morning drills to its sessions with renowned experts, PU's Armed Forces Motivational Cell has been extensively making efforts to impart the necessary discipline, leadership qualities while igniting the young minds to serve the nation in any possible capacity.
This is the second consecutive year that the students of PU have had the opportunity to take part in this national parade. The duo of 3rd-year students from PU's Faculty of Engineering and Technology have displayed their hard work and commitment throughout the year that has been fuelled by their passion for serving the nation. Cadet Siddhrajsinh Zala and Cadet Aman Kapoor marched at the Garrison Parade Ground in New Delhi in celebration of India's Republic Day. Being active members under the Air wing NCC, the students participated in the Prime Minister's Parade together with other NCC cadets from across India.
The Republic Day celebrations bring together the young and old from all over India to celebrate the rich cultural heritage in commemoration of the establishment of the largest democracy in the world. This lifetime opportunity was not only memorable for the participating cadets, but once again it has significantly put the state of Gujarat on the national map. The students did not only get an opportunity to participate in the parade but they also gained exposure to real-time armed forces ventures and exploits. In a statement cadet Siddhrajsinh Zala shared that “it was a great honor for me to be a part of this grand parade. I am truly grateful to all my mentors who have helped me to wake up every day with a mission to serve my nation. It is a privilege to be part of something that is greater than me I am truly grateful to PU for motivating me in making this a possibility”.
Numerous decorated army personnel have graced the University campus where they have delivered talk sessions with the University’s students. Through such interactions, students like Siddhrajsinh and Aman have been able to acquire first-hand experiences from the people who have been serving the Nation. Additionally, PU’s students have been engaging with the National Cadet Corps on various levels and they have been displaying their commitment through excellence in countless initiatives. “witnessing our students display such enthusiasm for the Republic Day Parade, truly brought us pride as University as this is a reflection of their commitment towards serving the nation in numerous capacities in the future”, said the University’s President Dr. Devanshu J Patel.
