What is PU-DAT?

A single aptitude test that looks past marksheets - PU-DAT measures how you think, reason and solve problems creatively, the way a designer actually works.

The Parul University Design Aptitude Test is the entrance exam for admission to Parul Institute of Design. It assesses creativity, design thinking and aptitude across three areas:

Logical Reasoning
Patterns, sequences and structured thinking.
Analytical Ability
Breaking problems down and spotting what matters.
Creative Problem-Solving
Original ideas, visual thinking and a portfolio.

Who can apply.

4-year Bachelorof Design.
  • Passed the 12th examination in any stream - Science, Commerce or Arts - with English as a subject, from a recognised board.
  • Appearing for PU-DAT is mandatory for admission.
  • Open to all six B.Des specialisations at PID.
3-year Diplomain Design.
  • Passed the 10th Standard examination from a recognised board.
  • A foundation route into design for students after Class 10.
  • Selection through PU-DAT / interaction as applicable.
2-year Masterof Design.
  • A Bachelor's degree (graduation) from a recognised university.
  • Selection via DAT and portfolio review.
  • Currently open for M.Des Fashion Merchandising.

Exceptional performers in NIFT, NID or UCEED can avail 75–100% scholarships. (Appearing for PU-DAT remains mandatory.)

Tuition-fee waivers are based on PU-DAT percentile and applicable for 2 years. Figures are indicative - confirm current terms with the admissions office.
