About Master of Laws (LL.M)


 

For the members of the legal fraternity, developing an understanding and expertise in the field of law is an essential need for careers in the legal framework and to further the scope of justice in the nation and the society. As a way of equipping individuals with the necessary knowledge, the Faculty of Law provides a one-year Master of Law program. The knowledge of the constitution is the fundamental basis of every expert; it provides an in-depth understanding of the body concerning laws that birth and constitute the endless amount of legislation. The curriculum of this program has also been designed in such a way that provides the much-needed insights into law as a way of learning and understanding the various components of legal practices and the governmental policies which go along with it. This post-graduate program endeavours to provide a better understanding of legal education by equipping students with a mastery of the most significant areas of law which go on to provide students with the ability to seek the ends of justice and to serve the general society. Throughout the program, the Faculty of Law exposes students to legal experts and notable personalities who nurture and guide the students on their journey in Law.

The legal validity of any law is only tested from the lens of one supreme document i.e. the constitution. A sound understanding of the intricacies of the constitution goes a long way in a successful professional career in the legal fraternity. Therefore this program will provide the students with a unique ability to navigate the endless scope of the legal field.

Candidate shall have passed three years unitary program of LL.B. or five year Integrated Law Degree from institutions where the mode of study is a full time program with minimum 45% of marks in aggregate.
