We believe that there is no service which is higher than the service which is rendered to the society. The Social Responsive Cell, plays the pivotal role of facilitating various platforms for promoting social awareness, and ensuring social welfare. The process of education is truly fulfilled not only when the individual lends to fend for himself but when the individual learns to serve the society. In this regard, our commitment has been decimated towards ensuring that our students learn to utilize their education for the betterment of the society. With the contemporary concerns of our times, such as gender discrimination, climate change, floods and disease out-breaks our efforts have been committed towards providing the most effective form of relief and solutions for the betterment of the society. Our students and faculties endeavor in a wide range of social initiatives designed to better the lives of the people around us. We believe that the fulfillment of every successful academic journey begins and ends with the need and desire to serve humanity, and it is this desire we continuously impart upon our students, through a plethora of social initiatives.

Parul Seva Mandal Trust

Parul Arogya Seva Mandal Trust was found with the noble aim to better the lives and living conditions of the destitute and underprivileged sections of the society. The Trust makes all possible attempts to alleviate human sufferings by spreading education, rendering medical service, extending help to villagers through various awareness campaigns and social outreach campaigns.

Social Initiatives

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Parul University created a crowd funding through which Rs 10,000 was donated by several people across the country. The funds were converted into food packages which were donated to the underprivileged.

The University made donations of five ventilators to the district COVID-19 centre in Vadodara. The ventilators were used to provide relief work for the city in the efforts to fight medical challenges which were caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Parul University organised various medical campaigns where several doctors and nurses provided free COVID-19 testing to the people in the local communities. The University also shared awareness to the locals in regards to precautionary measures.

The University collaborated with its non-teaching staff and prepared 10,000 rotis which were fed to the local community members, along with the police officers who were serving in Vadodara.

During the lockdown period, all the faculties of PU donated their one day salaries which amounted to 28 Lakhs, and the money was donated to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund towards COVID-19 relief initiatives in the state of Gujarat.

Regular activities for addressing the issues related to women in the society such as Women’s Equality Campaigns, Self Defense Workshop, Beti Bachao Campaign etc are organized which motivate the students to become a better citizen.

The social responsive cell has been actively engaged in various initiatives which have been centred on the promoting the environment. A tree planting event was organised with school children, to raise awareness for environmental protection.

In contribution to the fight against COVID-19 the medical doctors of Parul University took the initiative of conducting free tests and screening for workers in the industry and corporate sectors.

HUNF

HUNF, an initiative dedicated towards providing food relief through a tiffin service to the elderly through the use of a mobile van. Social Responsive Cell volunteers, have been identifying various elderly groups within the villages who are living in conditions of disadvantage to the extent of not being able to fend for their meals. The SRC team has been preparing one time hot meals, which they have been delivering to the doors of these orphan adults.

Flood Relief

The tragic floods which struck the city of Vadodara from the 6th to the 8th of August displaced thousands of people who found themselves trapped amidst raging waters, away from their families, and their homes.
