Words have the power to inspire, to heal, to ignite revolution, to stop wars, it has the power to create illusion and even the power to build bridges between hearts and mind.

Vadodara Literature Fest 2026, hosted by Parul University in association with I.I.M.U.N, became the stage where authors, legislators, artists, performers and intellectuals from various fields came together to create an environment where poetry and public policy accompanied, literature, leadership, storytelling and strategy.

Because in today’s world literature is not confined to pages, it exists in ideas, voices and discourse.

When Guidance and Stories Collide

The literature fest’s pivotal moments were the stirring keynotes addressed by the prominent figures from a variety of industries.

Varied view points were presented on stage by Justice Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud, Shobhaa De, General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Devdutt Pattanaik, Kanwal Rekhi, Anil Swarup, and Ankur Warikoo. Themes of leadership, decision-making, individual journeys, and the duty of forming institutions and the importance of reading were all covered in their discussions.

Every speaker put limelight on critical topics and took a unique approach for narrative. Some of them spoke through innovation and entrepreneurship, some through policy and governance and some spoke through personal experiences.

But each of their words create note-worthy experience for the students and other attendees. However, among all, the core idea remains the same: when the ideas are shared, they become more powerful.

Literature and Languages:

Literature celebrates languages and this is one of the distinctive features of this literature festival.

Prominent speakers like Anita Gopalan, Jaydeep Mazumder, Geet chaturvedi and Dr. K. Srilata highlighted the influence of regional writing in India’s literary landscape. Their session demonstrated the fact that stories with a strong cultural foundation evokes universal feelings.

When the Discussion Turns to Policy

The interdisciplinary spirit of the Vadodara Literature Festival is what sets it apart.

Literature does not exist in a vacuum, as these sessions showed. Politics, policy, economics, and society are all impacted.

Discussions about Life and Well-Being

Beyond strategy and leadership, the festival created a forum for conversations about daily life and well-being.

Dimple Jangda, Kajal Oza Vaidya, Dr. Deepa Sharma and Dr. Manjari Chandra had taken over the wellness talks and covered topics like self awareness, mental health and work life balance.

The book stalls showcasing a wide range of titles, gave the visitors and book lovers a space to explore their interests, interact with publishers and discover new authors.

At the carnival, the food stalls brought together delicacies and flavours from different cuisines, turning the event into a feast mood.

Alongside all these, the activity stalls created a vibrant atmosphere where creativity, community and curiosity blended together thus allowing the attendees to immerse themselves in the cultural energy of the festival.

When Music, Comedy and Poetry Took the Stage

The halls were filled with conversations, but the evenings were dedicated to performances.

Renowned artists such as Aditya Gadhvi, Ekagra Sharma, Bismil with his Bismil-Ki-Mehfil, the Ismail Langa Group, and Tanmay Nandre aka The Jaani Speaks were present at the Soul and Stage performances. Their breathtaking and energetic performances brought together music, poetry, comedy, and storytelling transformed the literature fest into an immersive experience.

Manhar Seth’s stand-up session served as another poignant reminder to the audience that sometimes the shortest verses convey the strongest feelings and that laughter is the best medicine.

An Area for Conversation

Discussions about democracy and society were also sparked by the festival.

The democracy dialogues panel session which included Deep Halder and Sabdul Hasan Khokon, discussed the importance of ethical journalism, public discourse and the role that storytelling plays in influencing the public opinion.

These discussions reaffirmed a basic fact: writers are not the only ones who create literature. It belongs to all those who create stories.

A Festival That Went Beyond Books

The discussions had spread well beyond the stage by the time the festival was coming to an end. They evolved into quiet reflection, late night discussions, coffee table conversations and notebooks.

Literature is not only about books and writers, but it is far beyond that, just the way the Vadodara Literature Festival 2026 demonstrated once again. The festival is all about books, music, foods, people, concepts and having the guts to ask, envision and communicate.

And on those brief days in Vadodara Literature Festival, each voice contributed a new verse that continues narratives.
