CAREER & LEADERSHIP JOURNEY
Her roots in teaching naturally expanded her vision of serving ahead. Dr. Parul Patel's roots are in homoeopathic medicine. FAQs
Look, Dr. Parul Patel runs a lot of things at Parul University simultaneously and that's just the reality of it. Vice President, Chairperson of Student Affairs, General Administration, and the Admissions Committee, all hers. Her actual academic background is homoeopathy, she did her MD in Organon from Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University up in Patan. Organon is the philosophy and foundational principles side of homoeopathy, not clinical, more theoretical, just so that's clear. She's also Managing Trustee of PASM, the Parul Arogya Seva Mandal Trust, which is the 1989 charitable trust that the whole university is legally built on top of.
Student Affairs and General Administration, that's her area. 250-acre campus, 27,000-plus kids living on it full time. The residential scale alone is something most people don't quite register until they've actually walked around the place. Admissions is where her work gets genuinely punishing though. Over 8,000 students are guided personally through the process every year, she's not delegating that, she's actually in it.
MD in Organon, Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan. Organon is the philosophical end of homoeopathy principles, foundations, the thinking behind the practice rather than the hands-on clinical side. Eight years before Parul she was teaching as a Professor at Rajkot Homoeopathic Medical College, so she came up through classrooms not boardrooms, which probably explains some things about how she deals with students now. CCH membership, Central Council of Homoeopathy, Government of India, means she's genuinely part of national-level conversations about how homoeopathy gets taught and regulated across India. That's not a rubber stamp role, it actually matters.
4,033 students in 2015-16. 70,000-plus today. 6,000 of those came from over 75 different countries. That gap between then and now didn't close by itself; someone had to build the pipelines that bring students in, process them, and keep the whole intake machine running year after year without it breaking down. Her outreach campaigns across Gujarat have personally reached over 15,000 students covering Engineering, Paramedical, Management, Medical, Law, Design, the full range of what's on offer. News 18 ran the Pride of Gujarat event, and "Leading University in Gujarat" award there, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel acknowledged her contributions.
The thing that probably deserves more attention than it gets, Parul University's six AYUSH colleges are the first from any single private university in India where all six have been NABH accredited at the same time. NABH is the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals. Getting one institution through NABH is a serious process.
