About Criminal and Security Laws


The Faculty of Law offers a one year masters degree in Criminal and Security Law which seeks to provide the students with the much needed understanding of the regulatory principles and frameworks which make up the field of law. The growing scope of technology has enhanced the rate at which cases of cyber crimes and other criminal act have been committed, with the easy commission of crimes, it has become important for students to master the laws relating to these crimes. The program has been designed in a mannner which provides the students with the much needed solutions to the contemporary security and crime related issues and provide the best practical legal solutions for them. The program is research oriented, thus it allows students to dive into the endless scope of knowledge by endless case laws and practical legal and moot sessions. The Faculty of Law also goes on to provide the much needed exposure to prominent legal luminaries and experts of the legal community who go on to nurture and guide the students in the numerous study areas of criminal and security law. The students also go on to learn the various aspects of areas such as evidence, criminal procedure, criminal jurisprudence amongst others. The program also provides the most effective resources for practical training such as moot courts and legal clinics which allow the students to gain the much needed exposure during the course of their studies.

Why Study Criminal and Security Laws

The more technology which has been developed, the easier it has become for the commission of cyber and related crimes, for this reason, the criminal and security specialization allows students to effectively develop the scope of law of crimes and engage with the world to provide real-time solutions in the scope of this field. The program will produce highly trained experts in traditional crimes and also cyber crimes.

Candidate shall have passed three years unitary program of LL.B. or five year Integrated Law Degree from institutions where the mode of study is a full time program with minimum 45% of marks in aggregate.
