Department of Public Health

Public health is a field dealing with the management and advancement of the health and welfare of communities and societies in and around the world. The Faculty of Public Health focuses on developing individuals who have the expertise and training required for improving the health of various communities by creating solutions through our institutional research and practical care. Our students are trained in relation with the contemporary needs of the world, so as to ensure the highest form of service to society and to devise the most relent community health schemes and policies. Our academic curriculum offers a highly comprehensive approach to education, which delivers to the students a practical hands on training through various case studies, community discussions, field visits, and expert seminars and various social welfare initiatives. Our faculties, alumni community and current students, harmoniously work towards finding precautions, solutions and treatment modalities for term diseases and social issues along with an advocacy for public health schemes and policies. We develop our students for caring for the greater good of humanity. So, take the first step towards a vibrant journey in Public Health.

Message from
the Dean

With Universal Healthcare being at the centre of the modern world, organisations such as the United Nations and the World Health Organisations have been on a high demand for public healthcare professionals who are committed and dedicated towards this purpose. As the Dean of the Public Health faculty, I am more than delighted to be a part of this process which has been responsible for grooming and developing a highly cultured blend of public health personnel who are ready to serve humanity in the best way possible. Even today, there exist many remote locations where people are struck by hunger, poverty, preventable disease and violence. To solve these issues, we encourage our students to work closely with faculties, researchers, professionals and global communities towards providing alleviative measures to better the lives of the people. Coming to the academic curriculum, the courses are specially designed to address the increasing demand of quality care through appropriately skilled and trained health care professionals having managerial skills in planning and addressing issues both at the health facilities and in the public health domain.
