It was a half-hearted decision to choose architecture over design. But soon after joining the architecture program in PU, I felt like it was the right choice. My level of confidence was always lacking, however through the various interpersonal skill development sessions which the faculty of law regularly conducts I was able to fully develop the required speaking skills and nurture my abilities to clearly communicate my ideas in the best way possible.

One thing I truly appreciate about the faculty of Arts is the highly trained and skilled faculties as well as experts who have given me the necessary training that I deeply required. On my first day, I was completely blown away with all the facilities which the institute was offering its students. Right from well-equipped labs to the Ayurvedic hospital, we had everything required for a comprehensive learning experience.

I am highly grateful to the institute for providing an internship right after course completion. During the internship period, I came across so many different cases, all of which had different approaches for medication, healing and therapy. I always considered Library and Information Sciences as a minor field. But after joining this program in PU, I became more broad minded regarding it. I learnt that, there is no point biasing the traditional and digital means of information and they can indeed go hand in hand.

We medical students have to study a lot. Considering our hectic routine, the University has designed a special library for us, where we can study, rest and also refresh ourselves with certain activities. The library is equipped with all the books, e books, high speed Wi-Fi, comfortable resting chairs, coffee machine and much more. This student friendly environment enabled me and my friends to study collectively.

I had teachers who always passed us constructive criticism, which not only kept us grounded, but also kept pushing us to get better each time. This is helping us solve cases independently.

Our institute has its own hospital which has many multi-specialty departments. Hands on sessions during hospital timings had provided us an in depth knowledge to context which was in fact out of our curriculum. Being a part of the Faculty of Nursing in Parul University has been by all means one of my greatest learning experiences, and the exposure I have had over the ages has really developed my abilities to care for patients and generally the people in my society.

With Parul University’s agenda towards internationalization, I got the chance to work under the CABCIN project, which was a European Union funded project to enhance the capacity of teachers in India’s higher educational institutions. Taking part in such a project which included 6 countries from Europe and Asia, along with the regular mobility to these countries was pretty useful. Personally I believe, this experience was highly instrumental in enhancing the way in which I taught my students.

Being a coordinator of the various cultural programs in Parul University, the one thing I learnt and realized is that, these events create the perfect platforms for cross cultural sharing and celebrating our cultural festivals at work.

The first time I joined Parul University I knew how to speak, but I did not know how to communicate. But because of the regular lectures on communication skills, and the help I received from the career development cell, I developed the ability to relate and communicate using good manners, and above all I developed confidence in my words, which also gave me confidence in myself. All I can say is these soft skills made me communicate better during my interview and I managed to get this good placement.

The expert talks organised by Parul University were really helpful for the placement of our child. In the classroom he was taught by experienced teachers, but in the expert talks he was taught by people who were actually working in the field. So they really helped him to understand how things function in the work environment. Every time he came back home after the expert talks, he had a lot of motivation from the speakers and I think this really helped him get this wonderful placement.

I was never confident in my own individual ability to tackle aptitude tests, however the career development cell organised for me regular aptitude tests and I believe this gave me the knowledge, and above all it gave me the confidence to take my final tests, all the fear was completely gone. I strongly feel that it was because of these regular trainings I managed to acquire such a good placement.

I never knew that I would be able to master any other languages apart from English and Hindi. But through the linguistics learning under the Career development, I was able to pass my French exam and now I am a fluent French speaker, which is an added advantage for my career. I am grateful for such an opportunity to learn in this enriching space.
