In a recent campus drive, the Yokohama – Women Apprentice Pooled Campus Drive 2025, hosted at Parul University, demonstrated how industry-academia partnerships can create new career opportunities in engineering and technical fields.
This comprehensive program is an exclusive combination of a two-phase career development model that bridges the gap between academic learning and professional excellence. Unlike traditional placement drives, this initiative provides participants with two months of rigorous free training, followed by a guaranteed one-year paid apprenticeship, creating a structured pathway toward permanent employment as Junior Supervisors.
An apprenticeship program represents a structured career development model that combines hands-on professional training with formal education, creating a direct pathway from learning to employment. Unlike conventional academic coursework, apprenticeships provide participants with the opportunity to learn and earn, gaining real-world experience under the guidance of industry experts while strengthening their theoretical knowledge. This dual approach ensures that graduates become technically skilled and workforce-ready. For students, apprenticeships remove the challenge of gaining initial work experience by providing a defined career path with skill development and financial independence from the beginning.
The program welcomed women candidates aged 18 to 30 from diverse technical backgrounds, including ITI specializations such as Fitter, COPA, Electrical, and Electronics, diploma holders in Mechanical, Electrical, and Rubber Technology, graduates, and BE/BTech students across various branches. With specific physical requirements of a minimum height of 149 cm and weight of 45 kg, the program maintained workplace safety standards while encouraging inclusive participation.
Participants received comprehensive support throughout their journey, including free transportation, subsidized food, and hostel facilities for outstation candidates. The program’s location in Dahej, Bharuch, Gujarat, places apprentices at the centre of India’s industrial corridor, offering exposure to advanced manufacturing processes and global quality standards.
The program offers competitive compensation across different educational backgrounds. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, participants transition into permanent Junior Supervisor roles, establishing a clear career advancement pathway.
