The Business Leadership Tour conducted by India’s International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN), with Parul University as the sponsoring institution, did not follow that format. Over four days in Bangalore, nine Parul University students sat in the boardrooms of twelve companies and held detailed sessions with thirteen C-suite executives.
Day 1 covered three sessions across finance, sustainable mobility, and electric vehicles.
- Angel One – Ankit Rastogi, Chief Product Officer. Topics included product thinking, the discipline of taking the first step, and why a business often reflects the personality of its leader.
- Alstom Global Finance Centres – Sudha Sankaran, Managing Director. Topics included sustainable mobility, rail systems, the integration of artificial intelligence into railways, environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, and the importance of learning, unlearning, and relearning.
- Ather Energy – Sanjeev Kumar Singh, Chief Operating Officer, spoke on first-principles thinking in electric vehicle manufacturing.
Day 2 focused on semiconductor manufacturing, lifestyle retail, and mobility platforms.
- Applied Materials India – Avinash Avula, Country President. Topics included the semiconductor industry, energy-efficient computing, and the observation that artificial intelligence chat queries consume approximately thirteen times more energy than standard search engine queries.
- Rapido – Rishikesh SR, Co-founder. Topics included the founding of India’s largest mobility platform and why Bangalore was the right city to build it.
Day 3 focused on leadership philosophy, people operations, and healthcare scale.
- Atul Ujagar – Former Managing Director, Nike Sourcing India (twenty-eight years at Nike). Topics included the palm tree principle, leadership as trust rather than authority, and comparisons between The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership and Robert Greene’s The 48 Laws of Power.
- Zepto – Subramanian Kumar, Senior Director and Head of People Operations and People Partnering. Topics included managing people operations in a quick-commerce environment handling more than thirty-five thousand workers.
Day 4 focused on insurance, networking, semiconductors, and aerospace manufacturing.
- Acko – Sateesh KV, Chief People Officer. He spoke on artificial intelligence in human resources and the importance of curiosity as a leadership trait.
- Cisco India and SAARC – Daisy Chittilapilly, President, spoke about absorbing learning like a sponge, treating failure as the beginning of new opportunities, and the role of women in technology leadership.
