The Diploma in Ophthalmic Assistant (DOA) is a two-year diploma course that helps trainees obtain rewarding careers in the field of eye care. This program integrates both theoretical and clinical learning to help learners obtain the necessary skills for assisting ophthalmologists in the diagnosis and treatment of diverse eye conditions.

Through this course, students will acquire practical skills in vision testing, ophthalmic diagnostics, patient management, surgery, refractometry, and the use of advanced ophthalmic equipment.

The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics with a minimum of 50% marks in the above subjects in any one of the recognized examination boards.

The admissions will be made based on 10+2 merit, and the candidates should be 17 years old at the time of admission or on or before 31st December of the year of admission. The candidate must possess the Medical Fitness Certificate certified by a Government Medical Officer. The admissions will be done according to the norms laid down by the State/UT/University.
