FAQs
Dr. Geetika Madan Patel is Vice President for Quality, Research and Health Sciences at Parul University in Vadodara but she's also running a 1,100-bed hospital as its Medical Director at the same time.
Her official role covers quality, research governance, and health sciences across all 23 faculties. She chairs the R&D division too. That's the formal version of it anyway. What actually got attention was two things specifically. Six faculty members from Parul University showed up on Stanford's Global Top 2% Scientists list in 2024.
Medical Director. The hospital runs over 1,100 beds, it's a multi-specialty teaching setup, NABH accredited, labs are NABL certified.
She was a panellist at the Universities Australia Solutions Summit in Canberra in 2026. Parul University got picked as one of seven Indian institutions for an Austrade higher education delegation, so it wasn't a casual invitation. Awards-wise, she's picked up quite a few over the years. Times Power Women Award back in 2021. Voice of Healthcare called her one of the Top Impactful Hospital Leaders in 2023. Times of India gave her an Icons Award in Healthcare. She has received Medical Excellence Award from the India Prime Awards too, and she made the Top 100 Women Icons list as well.
This part of her work gets overlooked a lot, which is frustrating because it's quite substantial. She founded the Sakshamthad Foundation herself and still chairs it. The Garima Women's Livelihood Centres, run through that foundation, have helped over a thousand women in Vadodara actually get to some financial stability. She also set up the Parul Mahila Credit Cooperative Society, which is basically giving women access to financial support through a community structure rather than chasing banks that don't serve them properly anyway.
Both degrees from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. MBBS, then MD in Community Medicine. Gold medals both times, she clearly wasn't just showing up. What's actually worth pointing out is that she still teaches community medicine to medical students at Parul University.
