Over the past decade, launching a company has gone from nothing to an ambition for Indian students and parents majorly. At Parul University’s PIERC – Parul Innovation & Entrepreneurship Research Centre, they believe in nurturing an idea to its final destination and hence they’ve built one of the incubators in the campus itself. Their mission is very clear – To turn students into job creators and not seekers!
What Is PIERC?
PIERC is Parul University’s dedicated innovation and entrepreneurship centre, led by CEO, Mr. Jay Sudani. It began as an Entrepreneurship Development Cell and grew, over several years, into a non-profit company able to handle grants and investments, and then into a full-scale incubation ecosystem. Its guiding philosophy reframes a familiar idea about India: as the centre puts it, India is not only a country of a billion mouths to feed, but a country of a billion minds to innovate. That belief, that a large population is an asset of problem-solvers rather than a liability, is what PIERC tries to instill in every founder who walks in with a raw idea. If you too are a passionate startup enthusiast, you can even discover business-focused programs at Parul University such as BBA in Marketing, BBA in Financial Management, BBA in Digital Marketing, and BBA in International Business and build a successful career in entrepreneurship!

A 360-Degree Support System
A startup rarely fails for lack of an idea; it fails for lack of support. PIERC is built to remove that excuse. The Incubation Centre is exclusively filled with each and everything a founder needs. From mentoring more than 100 experts across different domains to providing a genuine ecosystem to entrepreneurs, the university itself is a ready-made market for different feedback and testing products. With tens of thousands of students & staff on campus, a founder can easily test & gather real feedback. PIERC even lists out professional agencies so startups can gain easy access to accounting, payment gateways, photography & social media support inhouse itself.
Facilities to Build and Prototype
Ideas become products in PIERC’s making spaces: a FABLAB and Tinkering Hub, a mechanical workshop, and dedicated labs for augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR) and the Internet of Things (IoT). These allow founders to move from sketch to working prototype on campus, quickly and affordably, which is often the difference between an idea that stalls and one that ships.
A Network of Ecosystem Allies
PIERC connects student founders to a wide network rather than leaving them alone. It works with government programmes including Startup India, Gujarat’s Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP), and the state innovation hub (i-Hub); with industry bodies such as the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), NASSCOM, and the Vadodara Chamber of Commerce and Industry; with investors including Blume Ventures, Artha Venture Fund, and Lead Angels (Lead Invest); with technology partners like Google for Startups and AWS Startups; and with media partners such as YourStory and Inc42. For a first-time founder, access to that network is often worth as much as the funding.
The Impact, in Numbers
The ecosystem’s results are substantial. PIERC has proudly reached over 70,500+ students through its programmes and creative bootcamps. They’re designed in a manner to keep their creative ideas and vibe going. They’ve officially supported more than 300 startups and those startups have created over 1600 jobs, followed by a sheer revenue of 60 crores. They’ve invested 15 crores in startup fundings, run 200 events around a year and operate startup studios across Vadodara, Surat, Ahmedabad and Rajkot. They’re open to all the startup enthusiasts out there so if you’ve an idea, delay not and enrol into their Growth Pad Program and get your startup funded globally!
