Day 1, Session 1: Captain Arveen Kaur - Progress Is Not Always Linear

Senior Captain Arveen Kaur started the session with a statement that setbacks are a natural part of an aviation career.

Kaur holds eighteen years of experience flying on Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft and has sixteen years of experience with Go Airlines. She now works at IndiGo and became one of India’s youngest women commercial pilots at the age of 19.

Her central message was direct: “Aviation demands discipline and mental strength, not just technical skill.”

Addressing the participants and youth, she mentioned the collapse of Go Airlines and how she rebuilt her career by going through the selection process again after a settled job and eventually joining IndiGo.

She also addressed the reality of balancing motherhood with a flying career, noting that growth can be slow during certain phases and patience becomes essential.

On women in aviation, Kaur acknowledged the challenges without softening them. She told students to compare themselves only with their own past performance and encouraged women to show up every day, because consistent effort — even when slow — is still progress.

Day 1, Session 2: Captain Mohit Teotia - Words at 35,000 Feet

Captain Mohit Teotia, known as ‘Poetic Pilot’, is a SpiceJet Line Training Captain on the Boeing 737 with over 8,000 hours of flying experience. His rhyming in-flight announcements have gone viral across social media. He is also the founder of Poetic Pilot Academy, a DGCA-focused aviation training institute.

Teotia’s session explored how storytelling, emotional intelligence, and effective communication can reshape the aviation experience. During the session, he performed one of his signature poetic announcements live for the audience. Through poetry and storytelling, he demonstrated how creative communication can calm nervous passengers during turbulence while still maintaining strict safety protocols.

He also shared an incident that stayed with him about miscommunication in cockpits. A pilot once reported that an engine was ‘missing’ (meaning misfiring), and the engineer replied that the engine was found exactly where it was supposed to be.

The story illustrated a critical aviation lesson: communication must be precise, not just present.

Captain Teotia described his journey as “the boy who took 20 years to cross one wall”—a reference to the 20-year gap between watching aircraft from an army school in Jammu at the age of eight and eventually becoming a commercial pilot.

Day 2: Gaurav Taneja (Flying Beast) - Lessons the Cockpit Teaches for Life

Gaurav Taneja is an IIT Kharagpur graduate, former commercial pilot, and well-known content creator whose YouTube channel Flying Beast has more than 9.2 million subscribers. He is also the co-founder of Beastlife (fitness supplements) and Rosier Foods (organic dairy). He delivered an engaging session during Aviation Fest 2026 at the Medical Auditorium.

His session focused on lessons learned from cockpit experiences and how discipline, accountability, and emotional control apply not only to aviation but to life in general. Taneja spoke about the importance of accuracy over speed, explaining that marks are not awarded for doing things fast but for doing them right.

He shared five cockpit principles that apply to life: maintaining emotional stability, having backup plans, following rules with intent, checking instruments before making decisions, and communicating clearly.

On failure, Taneja was candid. He spoke about being fired from his pilot job after raising safety concerns and how he turned that setback into an opportunity to build a content creation career that now generates an estimated annual revenue exceeding ₹20 crore.

He encouraged students to fail in college because it is the safest environment to learn from mistakes. Students appeared inspired by his presence, many wearing Beastlife merchandise to welcome him. The Q&A session covered topics such as fitness routines, his protein brand, and the future of Indian aviation.

Why Parul University Hosts Events Like Aviation Fest

Aviation Fest 2026 was not an isolated event. Parul University’s Department of Aviation runs a BBA in Aviation, Hospitality, Travel & Tourism Management — a three-year program that includes mock aircraft training, personality development, and regular industry expert sessions. The department also offers a four-year BBA (Honours) variant under NEP 2020 with research modules and advanced specialisations.

The university’s approach to aviation education goes beyond textbooks. By bringing active commercial pilots, entrepreneurs, and content creators into seminar halls, students gain direct exposure to working professionals and real industry experiences.

Aviation Fest 2026, organised in association with IIMUN (India’s International Movement to Unite Nations), reflects this philosophy of connecting classroom theory with real-world aviation practice.
