About Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering

The Faculty of Engineering, Diploma Studies offers a three year diploma program in aeronautical engineering which focuses on developing and shaping students in the practical and theoretical aspects of the field. The program is designed to provide the diploma students with an understanding of the fundamentals of the field which allows them to get a step ahead in the understanding of the industrial and the academic aspects. The program has been approved by AICTE and is focused in providing students with the most dynamic skill sets vital for understanding the elements of aeronautical engineering. The Faculty of Engineering is equipped with 6 instructional & research laboratories which provide a worthwhile practical exposure in the areas of Aerodynamics, Propulsion, Aircraft Structure & Avionics. With the department’s inclination towards hands on training, the facilities are equipped with the most cutting edge technology and learning equipment  such as Subsonic Wind Tunnels, Aircraft Simulators an Mig-25 Jet Engine amounts others. Upon pursuing this program, our students are guaranteed to develop an apt understanding of aeronautics, essential for them to navigate the endless pool of career prospects in Aeronautical Engineering.

National Seminar On “Future Trends & Development In Aeronautical Field”

The main objective of seminar was to present trends & developments in aeronautical engineering. Teaching learning is an important process in academic institutions. Transfer of knowledge takes place from teachers to students only when teaching is effective. The young teachers need orientation and training of effective teaching. The objective of the program was providing comprehensive understanding of foundation of Aeronautical engineering concepts.

RC Aircraft Design and Fabrication Workshop

The RC aircraft workshop was organized by the department of aeronautical engineering on 22nd & 23rd March 2016. The workshop of EduRade made the students walk through the science of flying objects by making them design and fabricate their own RC aircrafts. Scratch building a RC aircraft rather than building it from a commercial kit, kit bashing or buying it pre-assembled helps participants understand the concepts of aerodynamics, flight dynamics, aero-structures and avionics involved in aircraft design in an application oriented manner. Students learnt hands-on methods of scratch building a RC aircraft, integrating electronics into it and making it ready to fly.

An Expert Talk on Importance of CAD-CAM in Aeronautical Field

Aeronautical Department had organized an expert lecture on 29th January 2019 on Importance of CAD-CAM in Aeronautical Field. Mr. Chirag Solanki, an Expert from Engineering CAD-CAM, Vadodara visited Departmen to convey the Importance of Designing Software such as CATIA, CREO, AUTOCAD, ANSYS in the field Aeronautical Engineering.

An Expert Talk on the “Scope Of Defence Sector in Aeronautical Field”

Aeronautical Department had organized an expert lecture on 6th August 2018 on Scope of defense sector in aeronautical field by Wing Commander, Air Squadron NCC, Vadodara. The expert talk enhanced the awareness regarding the opportunities in the Defense sector for the field of Aeronautical Engineering along with progressive studies of Satellites, Missiles and Weapon Technology.

Industrial Visit at Dhuvaran Thermal Power Plant

The Department of Aeronautical Engineering, PIET, DS-1st Shift, organized a one day Industrial visit on 15th September, 2018 to DHUVARAN THERMAL POWER PLANT for Diploma Aeronautical Engineering fifth semester students. Considering the Propulsion section of Aircraft which works on brayton cycle helped the students to enhance their knowledge and developed in them an interest for the Propulsion and thermodynamic cycles in Aeronautical engineering field.

Industrial Visit at VSSE, ISRO Ahmedabad

The department of aeronautical engineering, PIET, DS-1st shift, organized a one day industrial visit to VSSE (VIKRAM SARABHAI SPACE EXHIBITION CENTRE), ISRO AHMEDABAD for Diploma Aeronautical Engineering third semester students on 15th September 2018. An expert, Mr. H B Pandya along with his team from the VSSE, ISRO spent more than 5 hours to brief out the knowledge about satellites, missiles, mars mission and other space entities available at the place providing with animation presentations on PSLV, live Panels, Static Displays, 3-D theaters and interactive multi-media presentations with detailed information.

Industrial Visit at Gujarat Science City

The Department of Aeronautical Engineering, PIET-DS-1st Shift, organized a one day Industrial visit on 08th November 2018 to Gujarat Science City, Ahmedabad for Diploma Aeronautical Engineering First Year students. It was a good experience, which helped the students of 1st year to learn the basic science activities. Also, since the technicalities of the place visited were far more advanced, the students developed an immense interest for such activities.
