Inside Parul University’s Special Convocation Ceremony 2026 for Foreign National Graduates: Celebrating Over 6,500 International Students from More Than 75 Countries with Addresses by President Dr. Devanshu Patel, Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Kunjal Sinha, Provost Prof. (Dr.) K. N. Madhusoodanan, the Certificate Distribution Ceremony Featuring Dr. Parul Patel as Vice President, and the Medical Auditorium Setting Where Academic Achievement Met Genuine Human Celebration

The convocation and felicitation ceremony took place at the Medical Auditorium of Parul University. The room felt alive and energetic. The stage depicted the colours of Parul University. It was a crimson and gold scheme. A banner was hung that says, “Special Convocation for Foreign National Graduates 2026.” It was a huge moment for students and their parents. Students entered the hall wearing hats and gowns. Witnessing a room filled with different languages showed how the university promotes and works to help international students. Parents and guardians who witnessed a proud moment had to attend the graduation day and had the cameras ready so that they didn’t miss a moment. The auditorium became more energetic with smiles and applause.

The ceremony was formally opened by Parul University’s President, Dr. Devanshu Patel, with the words:

• Opening declaration. “I declare the Special Convocation Ceremony for foreign national graduates of Parul University, 2026, open. Let the candidates be presented.”

He gave a brief opening speech, a formal start for leadership addresses, distinguished speeches, certificate distribution, and the gradual dispersal of the attendees.

The pro-vice chancellor of Parul University, Dr. Kunjal Sinha, gave a welcome speech. She congratulated the international students graduating from Parul University. Students from 75+ countries graduated in 2026. She celebrated the multicultural nature of the campus where more than 6500 came to the campus pursuing their dream course that offered research and development along with internship and placement guidance. She further added that these students become global ambassadors for the university who get 100% support from the Office of International Affairs. With this, students also get an opportunity to work in the wide ecosystem of R&D covering fields like sustainable agriculture, pharmaceuticals, AI, engineering, healthcare, and more.

In the next session, the international students graduating were addressed by the Provost, Prof. (Dr.) K.N. Madhusoodnan, who appreciates how these students have come to India and Parul University to pursue their dream course. This makes the university an inclusive and diverse space for anyone planning to study a bachelor’s or master’s. The provost listed some recent data, like 6500 international students from 75+ countries registering in the university that has actively worked on contributing to research projects and industry collaborations in AI, engineering, biotech, healthcare, renewable energy, agriculture, and more.

He recognised the work of the Office of International Affairs, which fully supports the international students from admission to graduation. He shared with students that the degree they received is not only a sign of academic achievement but also their travel experience, meeting new people experience, hard work, determination, adaptability, and personal growth. He encouraged the students to carry forward the values of innovation, inclusivity, integrity, career growth, etc. And he welcomed the students to the alumni family.

The president of Parul University, Dr. Devanshu Patel, addressed the students who came from different countries. He congratulated the students and welcomed the parents and guardians who came to the convocation to witness the felicitation of their students. He acknowledged the growth of Parul University’s international community, which started in 2013 and today hosts 6500 students from over 75 countries.

He discussed the challenges international students face, adjusting to a new culture, food, environment, festivals, friends, and families and missing them.

He then gave an example of a seed growing and becoming a tree, only when the right environment is present that is, the right amount of water and sunlight for a seed to grow. Similarly, Parul University also provides an atmosphere that helps students to grow, learn, and become future-ready.

One of the most notable elements of his address was the inspiring story of Nobel Prize-winning scientist Dr. C. V. Raman, used to illustrate the importance of education, discipline, punctuality, hard work, and effective use of available resources.

In closing, he said that the graduates are achievers and contributors. Their rise and success are not only because of talent but also because of fortune and persistence among those who keep trying. He pointed out that one should stay connected to their families, people who helped them, communities, countries, university mentors, and Parul University as their second home.

The certificate distribution segment followed the addresses. The process was elegant in its simplicity. Graduates were called by name, ascending from the left side of the stage, receiving their degree with a handshake and photograph alongside the leadership and the chief guest, and descending from the right. Dr. Parul Patel, Vice President, participated in the degree ceremony alongside Prof. (Dr.) K. N. Madhusoodanan as Provost and other distinguished guests on stage.

Graduates walked in with a sense of relief and happiness at finishing the course. They waited for this day, and it can be understood from their expressions how excited they were and disbelieving wonder as though the reality were only just settling in. Every name that was getting announced was no less than a moment. Friends, family, and other attendees clapped, erupting in cheers and smiles.

After certificate distribution, the auditorium dissolved into unrestrained celebration. The students could feel the proud moment and how their parents were ready to capture the heartfelt moments. Graduating students embraced their families waiting in the aisle and hugged them tightly, which seemed to contain years of separation, late nights, doubt, and determination. Photographs in every imaginable configuration and laughter and conversation in a dozen languages filled the air. Small bouquets brought by families changed hands across the warm Gujarat afternoon. The grand auditorium space had become a series of small, personal moments.

The ceremony ended not with a formal dismissal but with a gradual, reluctant dispersal. Graduates lingered, families made their way slowly toward the exits while still glancing back, and flowers were carried out into the afternoon sun. It was the kind of ending that suggested not a conclusion but a beginning.

The convocation was the visible institutional moment, but the architecture behind it has been built over more than a decade. Parul University began welcoming international students around 2013-14. The community today numbers more than 6,500 students from over 75 countries, supported through the Office of International Affairs across the full student journey: access and admissions, orientation, cultural integration, well-being, and employment counselling.
