Program details overview
Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology (NMT)
Parul University provides a B.Sc. Nuclear Medicine Technology undergraduate program for individuals interested in becoming nuclear medicine technologists. In this discipline, physicians use radiopharmaceuticals and specialized equipment to diagnose and treat disease by evaluating the functionality of organs as well as their structures. The program acquaints students with nuclear medicine practice, imaging, and radiopharmaceuticals. In the first year, they study the structure and function of the human body, nuclear physics, radiopharmaceuticals, and radiation safety.
From there, students acquire imaging techniques, preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals, patient preparation for scans, image acquisition, and quality control. Classroom teaching goes hand-in-hand with lab sessions, case discussions, and supervised clinical training to give students an understanding of nuclear medicine’s role in diagnosis and patient care. Graduates can work in nuclear medicine departments, diagnostic imaging centers, multi-specialty hospitals, specialized healthcare institutions, and clinical research organizations. They can also pursue postgraduate studies in medical imaging and allied health professions.
