App Development with Swift Associate

Examination date

Ten students at Parul University have cleared Apple’s App Development with Swift Associate certification, the more advanced of Apple’s two Swift credentials. The examination was taken on 13 October 2026 through Apple’s certification process.

The achievement sits inside a wider effort on campus to turn classroom learning into credentials that an external standard recognises. Apple issues few certifications, which is part of why each one carries weight on a student’s profile.

The students

The ten certified students are:

The Apple learning ecosystem on campus

The preparation runs through the university’s Apple Innovation Lab and Authorised Training Centre, the Swift Coding Club and the Tinkering Hub. Together they give students Apple hardware to work on, a place to practise and a community of peers who have taken the same route.

The lab provides Apple computers for students who do not own a Mac, which removes the single biggest barrier to learning Swift, since the Xcode development environment runs only on Apple machines. A three-day workshop introduces Swift and SwiftUI, and open lab hours let students keep practising afterwards.

The trainer behind the result

Apple Certified Trainer Prof. Umang Panchal led the preparation. He ran the three-day workshops, held extra sessions for the group preparing for the certification, shared study material and the Apple Books resources, and kept students on track to the examination.

Several of the certified students single him out as their main source of guidance, alongside seniors who had already passed the same examination.

What the certification is

The credential is built on Swift, Apple’s programming language, and SwiftUI, the framework used to build an app’s interface. The examination, delivered through the Certiport platform, tests the language, the Xcode environment, planning and design, app development and debugging.

The Associate level is the more advanced of Apple’s two Swift certifications, and this group chose it over the entry-level option.
