About Mr. Saagar Tyagi

Mr. Saagar Tyagi is the Assistant General Manager of Revenue and Retention at Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi), where he works on customer-facing services. He spoke at Parul University on how an operator supports and protects its customers.

Reaching support and escalating a complaint

Customers can reach Vi through call centers, the Vi app, the website, social media, and retail stores, Mr. Saagar Tyagi explained, and a customer who is unhappy with a resolution can escalate to the company’s appellate authority, whose contact details are shared with them. This mirrors the two-tier redressal structure TRAI requires of every operator, and it means a student who faces a problem has a defined path rather than a dead end.

Spam protection and Do Not Disturb

On safety, Mr. Saagar Tyagi described an AI-based spam protection program that flags suspected spam calls and messages on the customer’s screen, so a user is warned before responding or clicking. He explained the Do Not Disturb service, which lets customers stop promotional calls and messages, and said customers can permanently block spam numbers and report them through the app, which helps Vi block the same numbers for other users too. Reporting a scam, in other words, protects the whole network, not just the person who reports it.
