Ms. Annie Goh visits Parul University for research & academic collaborations!
About Ms. Annie Goh
Ms. Annie Goh is the Director (International) at Lincoln University, New Zealand. At Parul University, she took part in discussions on building academic collaboration between the two universities, focused on academic pathway programs and research cooperation in agriculture and agribusiness.
What academic pathway programs would mean for students?
The discussions explored academic pathways that would let Parul University students pursue part of their higher education at an overseas institution. For a student, that means the chance to study in a different academic system, weigh options for further study, and build a more global view of their field. In agriculture and agribusiness in particular, it would help students see how the knowledge in their discipline applies across different geographical, economic, and cultural settings, which is exactly the global perspective the delegation’s teaching sessions pointed toward.
Research collaboration & global pathways
Research cooperation in agriculture and allied activities was also discussed in the talks. This partnership provides opportunities for universities to share ideas, knowledge, and experience on common concerns. Students interested in research will gain an understanding of the kinds of research questions that are pursued in various regions and how the knowledge developed in one region can be applied to another. It also serves as a stimulus for students to think about research as a pathway to further studies and a career. The ideas are yet to be developed; however, they open up real opportunities for students to experience the international world and understand future academic possibilities and are almost seamlessly tied into the global pathways and outbound programs already being offered at Parul University
