Foreign university partnerships
Parul University hosts students from more than 75 countries, holds partnerships with over 120 universities abroad, and has welcomed former heads of state and government to its Vadodara campus. Its Diplomats in Dialogue forum, which drew diplomats from dozens of countries in October 2026, is the most visible face of an international footprint built over several years.
The numbers behind it
A huge number of participants were present in the event. There were more than 6,000 international students studying at Parul University, drawn from over 75 nationalities, supported by international student services, on-campus housing, healthcare and language assistance. The university holds partnerships from more than 120 foreign universities. It also secured a 6.3 crore rupee European Union grant for a capacity-building project, and it was the first private university in India to set up a Centre of Excellence with seven universities of New Zealand.
The leaders it has hosted
Parul University lists among its past guests a number of serving and former national leaders:
| Leader | Role |
|---|---|
| Dr. S. Jaishankar | Minister of External Affairs, Government of India |
| Igor Luksic | Former Prime Minister of Montenegro |
| Ameenah Gurib-Fakim | Former President of Mauritius |
| Iveta Radicova | Former Prime Minister of Slovakia |
| Joseph Muscat | Former Prime Minister of Malta |
| Ivo Josipovic | Third President of Croatia |
| Rui Duarte de Barros | Former Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau |
These names sit alongside numerous ambassadors, high commissioners and education ministers the university has received over the years.
From hosting to partnership
A visit is not a partnership. What the university is working toward through these engagements is the next step: student-exchange agreements, joint research, and institutional memoranda that outlast a single event. Diplomats in Dialogue is the forum built to move those conversations forward, and the international office is the point of contact that carries them on.
What students get from it
The students are practically directly benefited from this international engagement. Through exchange and mobility programmes, international conferences, research collaborations, cultural immersion activities, and leadership initiatives, global diplomatic connections, students get meaningful learning opportunities within the classroom as well as beyond.
For students, the value of studying on a campus where nations converge lies in the exposure and access it provides to the world at large. It broadens their perspectives, strengthens their global competence, and prepares them for international academic and professional opportunities.
SOURCE AND CONTEXT.
